Mr. Butler died Wednesday, Oct. 3, Tut-Fann Veterans Home in Huntsville. He was born Dec. 25, 1936, in Cullman to Dr. Herschel and Christine Keim Butler. He was a mechanic with the Alabama State Highway Department. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Keith Butler, Kerry Butler and Kevin Butler; and a sister, Korene Schaefers.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Butler; two daughters, Anita Butler of Gardendale and Sharron (Phillip) Schaefers of Cullman; a son, Kenneth B. Butler of Arizona; a daughter, Cynthia (Mike) Kritner of Cullman; grandchildren, Shannon (Jon) Phillips and Grant (Angela) Schaefers, both of Bremen, Jessica (Alex) Luthi of California, Megan Butler of Virginia, Brittany Kritner and Lauren Kritner, both of Cullman; great-grandchildren, Clint Phillips, Taylor Phillips, Alysa Schaefers, Alyvia Schaefers and Aliya Schaefers, all of Bremen; a brother, Kermit Butler; six sisters, Kathleen Speer, Karen (Bert) Weeks, Kavon Pontius, Kolene Barnett, Kim (Johnny) Basinger and Kris Butler; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
