Funeral services for Mr. Lester D. Veal, age 79 of Hanceville, will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Center Grove Cemetery, with Dr. Stanley Kilgore officiating.

Mr. Veal passed away on Monday, March 29, 2010 at his residence. He was born on December 19, 1930 in Cullman County to T.B. Veal and Pearlie Edmondson Veal. Lester was a member at Etha Baptist Church, and he also served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. He also was the owner and operator of Veal Grocery and a poultry farmer. He is preceded in death by his parents, and fourteen brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his Wife of 54 years, Mary Belle Brock Veal; one Daughter, Zina (Donald) Stansberry; one Granddaughter, Crystal (Joey) Robertson; one Great-Granddaughter, Halle Robertson; one Sister, Dorthy (Al) Brown; two Special Pets, Sage and JoJo; and a host of Nieces and Nephews;
The visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
