Louie was a member of Central Church of Christ in Addison, AL. He served two years in the United States Air Force and 24 years in the United States Army. He was a Combat Medic for several tours in the Vietnam War and the Korean War. He received several medals including the Good Conduct Medal and the Bronze Star. He retired from the Army as a Sergeant First Class.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nina Ruth Cooper; son, Louie Cooper, Jr. and daughter, Michelle Cameron.
His survivors include his daughters: Rodeanna Cooper of Athens, AL and Angela Madrigal of Cullman, AL; sons: Harvey (Misti) Cooper and Jonathan (Tonya) Cooper both of Athens, AL; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Moss Service Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Terry Michael officiating. Burial will follow at Corinth Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Moss Service Funeral Home directing. The funeral service will be available via live stream on Moss Service Funeral Home’s Facebook page.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Floyd E. “Tut” Fann State Veteran’s Home for their wonderful care of Mr. Cooper during the past year. Also, special thanks to the dedicated doctors, nurses and staff of Huntsville Hospital.
