Mary Frances Brock

Born in Huntsville, Alabama, and a graduate of Cullman High School, Class of 1964, Mary Frances began working at the age of 15 and continued to do so until just months before her passing. She lived her life with grit and grace—always sassy and spirited. She had a special love for boutique shopping and a soft spot for her cherished weenie dog, Molly.

Mary Frances was the devoted wife of Rev. Dudley Brock for 61 years. As the pastor’s wife at Faith Cumberland Presbyterian Church, she was the most supportive partner one could ask for—serving in numerous roles throughout the years and pouring her heart into the life (and kitchen) of the church. She was a dedicated member of the Emmaus Ministry and exemplified the Proverbs 31 woman in every way. As Bro. Dudley affectionately recalls, “Her children rise up and call her blessed.”

Her bright blue eyes, which her daughter Kim lovingly envied reflected the light of her soul, especially when she was with her grandchildren, Cole and Sarah Abby—her pride and joy. Known as "Meme," they were her sunshine, as she reminded them often by singing the song “You Are My Sunshine.”

Mary Frances had a gift for making a house feel like home. Her laughter was contagious, her cooking unforgettable, and her love for family and faith unwavering. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and devotion that will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Mary is survived by her husband Bro. Dudley Brock, daughter Kim (Joel) Lay, son Scott (Deana) Brock, brother Elliot (Bonnie) Hughes, grandchildren Sarah Abby Brock (Tristian) Earick and Cole (Shelby) Lay, and a host of family and friends.

A visitation will be held Saturday May 3, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 PM with a celebration of life service to follow Sunday May 4, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel 1901 2nd Ave NW, Cullman, AL 35055.
