

Funeral services for Raymond Lee Brock, 80, of Cullman will be Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Center Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Randy MaKemson assisted by Rev. Stanley Kilgore and Etsel Riddle. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery. He will lie in state one hour prior to service.
Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Raymond Lee Brock, born July 23, 1930, in Cullman, Ala., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. Brock Sr. and Lela M. Miller Brock; his wife of 55 years, Betty Jo Craft Brock; an infant son, Gerald Glenn Brock; two brothers, James Walter Brock Jr. and Herschel Brock; two nephews, James W. Brock III and Neal Forrester; two sisters-in-law, Helen Brock and Ozell Brock; two brothers-in-law Coy Wren and Buford Forrester.
Raymond is survived by his daughter, Sharon K.(Jack) Spiegle of Cullman, Ala.; his son, Stuart L. (Pam) Brock of Arab, Ala.; two grandsons, Jackie R. (Laurie) Spiegle of Decatur, Ala. and Johnathan R. (LeShe) Spiegle of Red Bay, Ala.; one granddaughter, Mandy (Josh) Garmany of Arab, Ala.; two great-granddaughters, Annaclaire Garmany and Addison Garmany. Raymond was excited about the news of his first great-grandson, Foster Brock Spiegle, who is to be born in February to Jackie & Laurie Spiegle. He is also survived by a brother, Herbert Brock of Cullman, Ala.; two sisters, Margaret (Harold) Watson of Columbus Ga. and Shelby Dean (Bobby) Burrow of Cullman, Ala.; 7 nieces; 3 nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Raymond was a wonderful husband, father and grand father. He loved his family with an unconditional love. He liked to laugh and to make people around him laugh too.
He served his country for two years in the Army, 1951-1953 at Fort Sill Oklahoma. He worked as a carpenter until he retired in 1994 due to some health issues. Then he began working for Keith Smith Farms where he loved driving the tractors and doing anything else that Keith had for him to do, as well as making them all laugh. He loved bluegrass music, buck dancing and playing the spoons and being with his family and friends.He just loved and enjoyed life to the fullest.
He was a life long member of center Grove Baptist church and the Goldridge community where he was born and raised.
Raymond was loved by all and will be missed. He is now at rest and peace with his Lord. A special thanks to the wonderful nurses of Hospice of Cullman County who helped to care for Raymond during the last months of his life. Melissa, Savannah, Lucy, and Norma who quickly became a part of the family.
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 26, 2010 from 6:30 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
