Mr. William Edwin Dees

Funeral services for Mr. William Edwin Dees, age 78 of Hanceville, will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church. Interment will follow at Cullman Memory Gardens, with Pastor Bob Kurtz officiating. He will lie-in-state at the church for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Mr. Dees passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2010. He was born in Haleyville on March 20, 1932 to Chester and Ruth Buttram Dees. William was a active member of St. John’s Church. He enjoyed golfing, anything “Auburn” and he had retired with 44 years of service at Bennett Home Supply. He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Randy Dees and one brother, Owen Dees.

Survivors include four Daughters, Crystal (Marc) Steelman; Melissa (Mark) Aderhold; Cindi (Chris) Griggs and Carla Dees; two Sons, Kim (Joann) Dees and Stan (Mary) Dees; one Brother, Thomas (Adell) Dees; Fourteen Grandchildren, Cortney (Brian) Ferguson, Randi Dees, Auston Robison, Zachary Hicks, Bailey Steelman, Maddi Steelman, Kristen Shaw, Samantha Reynolds, Tonya Dunegan, Olivia Dees, Courtney Aderhold, Meagan Griggs, Jonathan Griggs and Lindsey Steelman; four Great-Grandchildren, Gavin Ferguson, Emily Ferguson, Olivia Ferguson and Layla Perkins.

The family will receive friends for the visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
