

Funeral services for Mrs. Zula Cobb, age 87 of Hanceville, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery, with Bro. Doyle Bullard officiating.

Zula passed away on August 21, 2010 at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born on January 6, 1923 to George Ellenburg and Claudie Holt. She was a member of 4th Street church of Christ, past Chairman of the Cullman County Board of Equalization, and worked at the polls with voter registration and the ladies Democrat Party. She was recently recognized by Hanceville Mayor, Kenneth Nail along with Representatives from the State House of Representatives and the State Senate, for her lifetime accomplishments. And for many years, Zula was the “go to” person if you needed anything from Montgomery.
Survivors include her Husband – Fulton Woodrow Cobb of Hanceville; two Daughters – Dorcas C. Fitzgerald of Ohio and Debbie (Dane) Martin of Birmingham and one Son – Robert F. (Vanessa) Cobb of Oklahoma; two Sisters – Imogene Waters and Mary Ruth Giles; one Brother – Earl Ellenburg; six Grandchildren – Wayne Cobb, Heather Daniels, Shannon Benvenuti, Adam Martin, Evan Martin and Joshua Martin; nine Great-Grandchildren – Dominick Cobb, Ethan Daniels, Ella Daniels, Enzo Benvenuti, Luke Martin, Harrison Martin, Elle Martin, Charlotte Martin and Warren Martin; and a host of Nieces, Nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
The family request donations be made in Lieu-of-Flowers to Southern Care Hospice in memory of Zula Cobb.
