

She endeavored upon many careers during her lifetime, and especially enjoyed her time as para-educator at A.G. Richardson Elementary School, working with the Special Education Department.
In her free time, she loved sewing, interior decorating, and completing arts and crafts projects. She also greatly enjoyed the outdoors, and activities such as camping, hiking, bike riding, and attending outdoor concerts and festivals.
She was preceded in death by her dear mother, Susan Woellner, and her brother Damon Brooks.
She is survived by her son, Andrew Farnam and wife, Hilary, of Culpeper, Va.; her son, Robert Farnam and beloved granddaughter, Lakota Farnam of Culpeper, Va.; her brother, Dr. David Brooks and his wife, Sue of Culpeper, Va.; her sister Chris Massingil and her husband Trey of Arkansas; her nephews Dr. Jonathan Brooks, Chris Lane, and Lucas Massingil; her nieces Jennifer Lane, Julie Brooks, and Ashleigh Brooks; her father Dr. Ernest Brooks, her half brother, Ernest Love Brooks, III ; and her companion for many years George Shorter.
Her family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. Salman Ali and staff at Fauquier Hospital, to Dr. Lawrence Whitehearst and staff of Culpeper Regional Hospital, and a special thank you to everyone at Hospice of the Rapidan for their loving care, compassion and support.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held in her memory at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at Culpeper United Methodist Church, 1233 Oak lawn Dr., Culpeper, Va., with Butch Mills conducting the service. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.
