Carolyn Sue Ankrom

A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Fincham and Lonnie McIver officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Quantico National Cemetery, 1824 Joplin Rd., Triangle, VA 22172. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ankrom was born May 24, 1942 in Miami, WV, a daughter of the late, Harvey and Bonnie Hall Wines. She was a Sales Associate in the Men’s Department for Belk for 23 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Ankrom is survived by her sons, David Lee Ankrom, Jr., and Steven Lynn Ankrom (Sandra) all of Culpeper; her daughter, Leanne Ankrom and significant other, Mark Foster of Culpeper; her sister, Doris Brennan; her long-time companion, James Hawkins; her grandchildren, David Lynn Ankrom, Michael Ankrom, David Lee Ankrom, III, Jessica Ankrom, and Amber Ankrom.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ankrom was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, MGYSGT David Lee Ankrom, Sr. USMC in 1983; her brothers, Darrell Wines and Glenn Wines:; and her grandson, Matthew Ankrom.
