

Dorothy A. “Dot” Faulconer, 93, departed this life on August 15, 2021. She was born on December 25, 1927, in Mitchells, Virginia to William and Nellie Quann Faulconer. She was the youngest of 2 sisters and 7 brothers, all of whom preceded her in death.
She is survived by a niece whom she considered a sister, Kitty Bradley, of Amherst, Virginia. She is also survived by two dear friends, Pat Payne and Mary Scott Gyory, both of Culpeper. In addition, she is survived by nieces and nephews and countless friends she met at work or through her church. Special thanks go to Margie Minor, her caregiver.
Dot was Clerk of the Circuit Court of Culpeper County from January 1, 1973, until she retired June 30, 1991. She had 35 years of service in the Clerk’s office. She was a lifelong member and first female ruling elder of Mitchells Presbyterian Church. Further service in her church included being clerk of the session, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school and youth group, participating in Women of the Church, and coordinating popular steak suppers. Dot was a past president of the Culpeper Business and Professional Women’s Club and also enjoyed singing in a local women’s quartet.
Her service will be held at Mitchells Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, August 18,2021 at 11:00AM with Rev. Carole Throssell duBois and Rev. Dr. Arthur D. Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. For those unable to attend, the service will be recorded and posted on the Mitchells Presbyterian Church YouTube channel later in the day,
