

Homer Douglas Hanson, 62, of Brandy Station, VA passed away at UVA Hospital, Charlottesville, VA, Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Mr. Hanson was born in Charleston, WV to Homer W. Hanson and Betty Lou Moore Hanson Cohne May 27, 1949; served his country in the U.S. Navy and last worked for Laws Auction House in Manassas, VA.
Surviving Mr. Hanson is his mother, Betty Lou Cohne and her husband Arvel of Brandy Station, VA and his siblings, Robert Hanson and his wife Janet of Culpeper, VA, Thomas Hanson and his wife Karen of Marshall, VA, Ann Runion and her husband John of Manassas, VA, Renee Santoyo and her husband Manny of Tucson, AZ and Arvel Cohne, Jr. of Brandy Station, VA. He also has ten nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home with Pastor Yonts conducting the service. Interment will be in the Culpeper National Cemetery, 501 East Chandler Street, Culpeper, VA with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 330 and V.F.W. Post 2524 Honor Guards.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 5, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Clore-English Funeral Home.
