

Howard F. “Dutch” Green, Sr., 90, of Culpeper, VA passed away in the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community, Friday, May 13, 2011. Mr. Green was born to Rice E. Green and Myrtle Creel Green in Warrenton, VA , August 21, 1920. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II; was an insurance salesman and farmer. In 1966 , he opened Green’s Amoco (Green’s Amoco Food Shop).
Surviving Mr. Green is his wife, Edna Settle Green of Culpeper, VA; his son, Howard F. Green, Jr. “Speedy” and his wife Theresa of Culpeper, VA and his granddaughter, Jody Green of Culpeper and Williamsburg, VA. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Harry, Robert H., Reginald and James E. Green.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home, Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 1:00 P.m. with Rev. John S. Farrar conducting the service. Interment will be in the Culpeper National Cemetery, Chandler Street, with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 330 and V.F.W. Post 2524 Honor Guards.
