Lonnie Welford Myers Sr.

Lonnie “Dick” Welford Myers, Sr., 79, of Elkwood, VA. passed away at Mary Washington Hospital, Monday, October 7, 2013. Mr. Myers was born in Culpeper County, VA September 12, 1934 to Dorian Myers and Orella Mae Thomas Myers; was a member of First Century Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and hunting.

Surviving Mr. Myers is his wife of 59 years, Neva Myers of Elkwood; his children, Lonnie W. Myers, Jr. and his wife Tina of Culpeper, VA, Alma Jean Myers of Elkwood, VA and Randy Lee Myers and his wife Darlene of Lignum, VA; his five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Also, Mr. Myers is survived by his siblings; Anne Brown and her husband Charles of Lignum, Margaret Brown and her husband Bob of Fredericksburg, VA, Dorian Myers and his wife Debra of Fredericksburg, George Myers and his wife Jo Ann of Summerduck, VA, Archie Myers of Richardsville, VA, Douglas Myers and his wife Libby of Spotsylvania, VA, Calvin Myers and his wife Gail of Culpeper, VA, Bonnie Weedon and her husband Seldom of Idaho, Linda Jefferies and her husband Cecil of Lignum, Ricky Myers of Lignum, Kyle Myers of Unionville, VA, Anthony Myers and his wife Diane of Lake Helen, FL and Audrey Watson and her husband Ronnie of Lignum and sisters-in-law, Gloria Myers of Elkwood and Doris Myers of Brandy Station, VA. Mr. Myers is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Rose Willingham and brothers, Jesse Myers and Wallace Myers.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home, Friday, October 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Lee Brown and Pastor Tim Atkins conducting the service. Interment will be in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery. His grandsons, Lonnie III, Eddie, Andrew and Jason along with Sonny Cook, Gary Deal, Chuck Bauer and Ike Crittenberger will serve as pallbearers.
