Maude Perryman Taylor, 88, of Culpeper, Virginia passed away peacefully on July 12, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 1, 1930 in Batna to the late John William and Myrtle Bailey Perryman. A graduate of Culpeper County High School and lifelong Culpeper resident, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, James Clifton "Click" Taylor. She is survived by her sister, Laura Perryman Brown of Culpeper; her cherished daughters, Dale Taylor Hook of Lorton, VA and Nancy Taylor Burdette and her husband, John, of Vienna, WV; her nephew, David Lee Miller and his wife, Gayle, of Culpeper; her devoted grandchildren, Stacia Aho and her husband, Jeremy, of Arlington, VA; Rachel Burdo and her husband, Jason, of Springfield, VA; Clifton Taylor Hook and his wife, Courtney, of Marshall, VA; Callie Benedict and her husband, Hank, of Fleming, OH; Patricia Hook of Lorton, VA; Richie Burdette and his fiancé, Samantha Lawson, of Manassas, VA; her adoring great-grandchildren, Annika Aho, Hudson Lynch, Reagan Lynch, Clifton Hook, Lucy Hook, Mariska Benedict, Mariah Benedict, Jordan Gray, and Remington Burdette; and a host of dear nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbors and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings Myrtle Miller, John Perryman, George Perryman, Charles Perryman, Lucy Laird, and Edd Perryman. If you met Maude, you did not forget her. She was energetic, spontaneous, loyal, loving, forgiving, determined, opinionated, playful, and generous. She loved her high school softball days, trips to the beach, playing cards, puzzles, family genealogy, the Atlanta Braves, home cooking, mowing her grass, pie, gardening and collecting Pyrex. She dedicated her time to civic work, including the Salem Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, the VFW Post 2524 Auxiliary and Wreaths Across America. Throughout her life, Maude's greatest joy was her family. She valued her marriage and remained Click’s loyal wife, ensuring he was remembered for the 30 years following his death. She instilled in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren strong family values and the importance of togetherness and fierce loyalty. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 26, 2019, from 6-8 pm at Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA 22701. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11 am at Clore-English Funeral Home with Rev. Philip Walker officiating. Reception to follow at Salem Volunteer Fire Department, 13428 Scotts Mill Rd., Culpeper. Private interment at Fairview Cemetery.
