Pearl Strother Griffin, 101, of Culpeper, VA passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, May 9, 2022. Born in Culpeper, VA November 23, 1920, to Ben and Sarah Strother, Pearl was the oldest person still alive that was born in Culpeper according to county records. Pearl is survived by her son Taylor (Taye) R. Griffin III and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Pearl is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years, Taylor R. Griffin, II; her sisters Grace White, Mary Settle, Lottie Moss, and Maggie Robertson and a special niece Kaye Mahon. Pearl worked for Second Bank and Trust for forty-three years; was a member of Culpeper United Methodist Church since January 22, 1956, the Alma Bragg Circle; a member of the Culpeper Board of Supervisors from 1980-1984; a member of the Culpeper Business and Professional Women’s Club and The Helping Hands. The Griffin family would like to send out a special thank you to Acti-Kare and Hospice of the Piedmont for their exceptional care that they provided to Pearl. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Hwy., Culpeper, VA with Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor John Hemming officiating. Interment will follow at the Culpeper National Cemetery, New Grounds. In lieu of flowers, the Griffin family has asked to consider a donation to ProMedica Hospice. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Craig Brissette, George Gibson, J.T. Griffin, Tom Griffin, Wyatt Griffin, Jack Hawkins and Jimmy Yowell.
