

Ralph S. Hitt, Jr., 89, of Reva, VA went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 18, 2015. Mr. Hitt was born to Ralph Hitt and Elizabeth Bailey of Culpeper County, May 12, 1925; was a truck driver, farmer and small engine mechanic and a member of Calverton Baptist Church, Calverton, VA.
Surviving Mr. Hitt are his children, Jackie VanVliet (Raymond) of Kannapolis, NC, Ray Hitt (Kathy) of Fredericksburg, VA, Billie Heddon (James) of Franklin, NC, Johnny Hitt (Cathy) of Chester, VA, Robert Hitt (Tamey) of Fredericksburg, VA and Gale Cockrill (Mike) of Partlow, VA; his siblings, Francis Smith, Kelly Hitt of Culpeper County, VA and Charles Hitt of Arkansas; also 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 7 great, great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Hitt, his parents and his siblings Rachel McBride, Edna Cooper, Talmage Hitt, Harvey Hitt, Harry Lee Hitt and a grandson Michael Plummer.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 7:30 p.m. Pastor Wayne Yowell will conduct the service. Interment will be private at a later date in the Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors provided by the V.F.W. Post 2524 Honor Guard.
