

Rickey Dwight Lee, 78, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Born in Winchester, VA, he was the son of the late Clyde D. Lee and Alma G. Lee. He grew up in Delray, WV and graduated from Hampshire High School in 1965. Rick loved God, his family, and being outdoors. He was an avid baseball and softball player, playing softball into his early 60's. He retired from S.W. Rodgers, Co., in Gainesville after working over 35 years as an Excavator Operator and Pipe Crew Foreman. He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church in Culpeper and served as deacon in other churches during his life. He was a member of the American Legion in Warrenton, VA Post 72. He was a Vietnam Veteran having served in Company C.,15th Engineer Battalion 9th Infantry of the United States Army.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Rebecca A. Lee, one daughter Tara J. Smith and husband, Tim of Roanoke, VA, one son, Matthew D. Lee and wife, Lindsey of Culpeper, VA, five grandchildren- Caleb, Anna, Ava, Hudson and Ariel, one brother, Timothy Lee and wife, Kitty of Augusta, WV, and sister-in-law, Alma Smith and husband, Jim of Garner, NC as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Open Door Baptist Church in Culpeper, the VFW, or the American Parkinson Disease Association.
Visitation will be held at Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, Virginia 22701, on April 28, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at Open Door Baptist Church, 754 Germanna Hwy, Culpeper, VA, on April 29, 2026, at 10:00 am with Pastor Bernie Jernigan officiating.
Burial and Committal Service will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery, New Grounds, 501 East Chandler Street, Culpeper, Virginia 22701, on April 29, 2026, at 11:00 am.
