Stephen Patrick Griffin

Stephen P. Griffin, 61, of Brightwood, VA., passed over to realm of Our Heavenly Father on Friday, August 28th 2015. Steve was born July 4, 1954, in Fairbanks Alaska to Guilford W. and Vera M Griffin. He was preceded in death by his sister Lee C. Griffin. He is survived by his parents Guilford W. and Vera M. Griffin, both of Brightwood, VA.; his brother Stanley W. Griffin, also of Brightwood; a son Daniel P. Griffin and Daniel’s Fiancée Erica Tomlinson, of Baltimore MD. and a grandson Brennen P. Griffin.; as well as two Nieces, Jessica L. Lepore and her husband Peter A. Lepore, and their son Anthony C. Lepore of Culpeper; and Brittany F. Griffin also of Culpeper.

Steve was a graduate of Mannheim American High School and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Virginia Tech in 1977. Steve was an avid animal lover and also enjoyed cooking, reading, politics, history, comedy, country music, NASCAR and baseball.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 6, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA 22701. A service will be held at a later date in Madison, Va. with a private family internment to follow later. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to either the Madison County Rescue Squad or Madison County animal shelter.
