Thelma Ruth Curtis, 97, of Elkwood, VA passed away in UVA-Culpeper Hospital Wednesday April 15, 2015. Mrs. Curtis was born in Wythe County, VA to Hugh Kincer and Frances Copenhaver Kincer on February 14, 1918.
Surviving Mrs. Curtis is her daughter-in-law, Brenda J. Curtis of Elkwood, VA; her granddaughters, Cindy C. Kerns and her husband Dave and Robin C. Hensley and her husband Jody; her great-grandchildren, Morgan Kerns, Jacob Kerns and Kyle Hensley; her brothers, Hugh Kincer and George Kincer and a number of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Russell Curtis; her son, Allen Curtis and her sisters, Ethel Hutcherson and Margaret Alther.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 17, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home with Rev. Stan Mulford conducting the service. Interment will be in Elkwood Cemetery, Elkwood, VA.
Memorial contributions should be made to the Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department, 19601 Church Road, Brandy Station, VA 22714.
