Walter Carl Arrington

He was born in Coeburn, Virginia on May 9, 1939, son of the late Walter and Mildred Arrington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Opal Frantz and two brothers, Bud Arrington and David Holbrook.

Walter was a retired painting contractor and had served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He attended The Bridge Church in Warrenton and Faith Fellowship in Wirtz. Walter loved the outdoors, singing, spending time with his family and telling life stories, but his passion was reading the bible and teaching the word of God.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Frances L. Arrington; three sons, Michael Arrington (Lisa), Mark Arrington (Laura) and Gary Arrington (Rosiland); three brothers, Phillip Holbrook, Kenneth Holbrook, and Roger Holbrook. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 great- great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am – 10:50 am on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA where a Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery.
