William Ernest Deane

William (Bill) Ernest Deane, Sr. of Culpeper, Virginia passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 28, 2023, after battling cancer. He was born in Washington, D.C. on June 21, 1938. He graduated from Annandale H.S, where he met and married the love of his life, Sandra Lee (Thompson) Deane. They were married on March 16, 1959. Bill worked as an elevator mechanic for 49 years, and then worked at Chrysler of Culpeper until the age of 82. Bill was a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors, a volunteer fireman at the Annandale Volunteer FD, a member of the Centreville Moose Lodge 2168, an avid golfer and a member of the Country Club of Culpeper. He coached Little League baseball in Fairfax for over a decade. Bill is survived by his wife, Sandra, children Mary Deane (Mary Cate), Billy Deane (Shirley) and Christy Brown; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Clore- English Funeral Home in Culpeper at 2:00PM. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until service time. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to the Hospice of the Piedmont or the Cancer Society of America.
