

Alvin Louis Bringelson was born on a farm in Armour, South Dakota in 1931. He was the son of Hazel Bringelson and Anton Bringelson, and the brother of Harold. In 1949, Alvin graduated from Armour High School. After high school, Alvin enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and served for four years during the Korean War. In 1952, Alvin Bringelson and Marlys Kjenslee got married. Their marriage lasted 69 years. Together, Alvin and Marlys had two sons, Steven Lee Bringelson (Raedeane Marie Bringelson) and Mark Alan Bringelson.
Shortly after Alvin served in the Korean War, he went to South Dakota State University to earn his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering. Following receiving his degree, Alvin went to work for several companies, including: Western Electric, Atomics International, Hughes Aircraft, and Boeing Aircraft. Alvin’s work eventually led him and his family to Los Angeles, California.
Alvin was a proud member of three Southern California golf clubs. He treasured his time coaching and watching his sons and grandsons participate in baseball, basketball, and golf. Alvin enjoyed his later years with his family beside him.
Alvin is survived by his wife, Marlys, his two sons, Steven (Raedeane) and Mark, his grandsons, Brian (Katy) and Kenneth (Kristi), Frank, and Timothy (Katie), his great grandchildren, Jenah, Isabellah, Ethan, Tucker, Nathan, Charlotte, and Olivia, and many devoted nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Hazel and Anton, his brother, Harold and his granddaughter, Christine.
