Benjamin William Maheia, made his grand entrance on April 16, 2002 at Charlton Methodist Hospital, Dallas, Texas. From his curtain call, Ben Ben as he was passionately called, was a cowboy at heart. He howled loudly and was not very fond of baths and you better not mess with him.
Ben Ben was the answers to earnest prayers and a wonderful gift from God. From the time of his arrival he began his quest to perfect his numerous gifts and talents. In the time that he was here, he managed to live a full life, moved and touched all those he came in contact with.
Lets examine some of the numerous roles he played on this stage of earth. He was first and foremost Dr. Ben the Veterinarian, he loved all living creatures, whether they be animals, reptiles, or birds. Dr. Ben Doolittle was always there for the rescue. He was also a fireman, who wanted to save lives. And not just a fire-fighter, but the Chief of station house. Hopefully, he is getting some rest as there is no fires in heaven to put out.
He was a master-chef, who crush Spam with onions and peppers with a side other of avocado, was just one of his specialty. He was an inventor, if he saw something he fancied and his parents would not get it for him, he retreated to his lad and simply created his version of it.
Recently he moved on to being a mechanic and an IT technician, working on the neighbors bicycles, phones and computers. He had such a great heart, he offered any services needed as janitor, grocery boy, laundry boy. You need anything, he became it.
The footprints that Ben Ben leaves will be forever pressed in our hearts. It is a joy and blessings to know that, that kind of heart will now live on in someone else. His comedic talents, was a show to behold. He could lighten any room, any situation with his fabulous wide smile and laughter. He kept his family and friends in stitches with his humor and antics. If you think, that would be the extent of his skills, hold on. He was a skilled fisherman, which he developed the love of fishing from his dad. Ben Ben was able to catch a fish, scale and cook it. Baby, I hope you and your father are casting your nets on those beautiful shores. He was introduced to soccer and recently, his focus became practicing to perfect his kicking skills, as was testified by his friends, that loved him. We truly believe that he thought he was going to be the next Pelle. Auntie Celida bought him his cleats to perfect his skills. We know surely that those kicks are now perfected in heaven. Please! Please! Ben Ben, be careful, do not break anything up there.
Ben love school and was a 6th grade student at Audubon Middle School. At school he was the student, however, at home he believed he was the Boss, as he became the teacher to his little sisters. Ben Ben we love you and we will miss you for you have brought so much joy and love into our lives. For that, we will be forever thankful, to God for granting us that opportunity. So, we will only say goodnight, sleep tight until we see you again.
