Sugar Hill apartments are not the same without Valerie’s warm smile and personality. Valerie has always been welcoming, friendly, and caring towards the residents. It would brighten my day when I would get to talk with her while she was walking her dog or we were doing laundry. I would see her light up when she talked about spending time with her family and her presence was always known through her worship music playing in the evenings.

My condolences to all who are mourning the loss of a great woman. She will be missed but not forgotten.

Your beautiful smile and big, bubbly personality will be greatly missed.  Thank you for helping to make me look beautiful by doing my hair back in the day. 🙂May the peace of God be with your family.

Oh my God, when I got the news regarding my sister Valerie passing, my is heartbroken ❤️ 🩸 Rest well in Paradise Valerie,  you will be missed and most important Valerie have earned her crown 👑 in Glory, she talked about the Lord all the time. Thanks you for your friendship for many decades and my twins 👯‍♀️ daughters still remembered how you pressed and curled their hair for Easter Sunday in 1998 such fond memories how you put your heart into making them look 👀 so beautiful that day of the Lord. Valerie Valerie Valerie... I know you would have LOVED to be here to see all the family and  friends who came to celebrate you girl! Your smile would've lit up the room and you would've bought some kind of vegetarian dish or sweets to make everybody feel good. You always brought bubbly sunshine and laughter everywhere you went.  And I personally want to thank you for your kindness, those great talks about finding love, the encouragement I needed when I was feeling down, and your constant generosity over the years.  I will truly miss you my sister and my friend! ❤️💜❤️

I learned of Val's passing yesterday. I immediately had a vision of her beautiful face, her dimples, and her incredibly beautiful smile (I must also mention her fashion sense was on a million!!!). Before I ultimately worked w/Val at DCFS (around 2015), she was my Mom's buddy from the old DCFS Alameda office. She did my Mom's hair and she did my hair a few times when I was a kid. Many know when you say someone is "good people" you know they are loved by all who cross their path...that was Val...GOOD PEOPLE!!! My condolences to Val's family and friends. I can only imagine how you're feeling. May your loving memories of Val carry you through this difficult time and beyond.

So Sorry to hear about Valerie.  I only knew her by phone calls when I needed assistance with different issues and she was very professional about it.  I'm praying for the family.

My condolences to Valerie's family. We worked on the same floor for many years at the Headquarters office. She was always friendly and cheerful. Professionally, she was helpful and provided prompt assistance with any request. It was a pleasure talking to her anytime ran into each other.
