My sincere sympathies to the Carter family.  I went through grades one to twelve with Ricky....we lost touch after graduation,  however the tributes to him that have been posted here indicate he remained a kind and loving person...RIP Ricky

Very sorry to hear of Ricks passing. My heartfelt sympathy to Mrs Carter, Wayne, Debbie, Cavell and Crystal. Rick was a very kind and loving brother in law that brought joy to our lives. He did what he could for everyone he knew without ever being asked.  While living in Birchy Bay he was not only the man around the house for his own family but for me and my parents as well.  I will be forever grateful for the way he took care of us. 
May God provide comfort to you in this time of sorrow.

To the man who cared enough to give up his time to teach me what he loved .through his time and effort i have been using the talent of playing guitar in church for close to 17 years for that thank you is truely not enough.i spent alot of time with rick both through work and home.for me and other musician he came in contact with. we are missing a piece of our lives today.My brother you will be missed by all .alot of people come into our lives that we forget along the way but guys like rick were truely unforgetable.

We have many great memories of Ricky that would take days to reiterate.  He wrote the most amazing song for our wedding and performed for our guests, of which many were in tears when he finished.   Ricky was a very talented and soft hearted man.  He was certainly taken from this world too soon.  Our love goes out to the family.  He left us with two very special young ladies so a part of him will remain with us.

His big smile and great sense of humour is something I'll always remember, They say some people come and go but some stay in you heart forever. There's few words to describe how I feel, but heartache is at the top of my list right now. Rick was a true friend over the years, and will be missed more than words could ever say. I will never forget you; as everyone else he touched with his laughter, and especially his music. From silly kids songs like "Rags the Dog" to "Stairway to Heaven" he was a true musician. You're on your own stairway now Rick, one free of illness and pain. We all have a special angel looking out to us. See you on the other side My Friend. <3
