Janice (Russell) Gauvin

Born in Jacquet River, NB on June 29,1927, Janice was the daughter of the late Ernestine (Cote) and the late Edward Russell. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by her daughter Suzanne and her children, her son Ronnie and his children, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her brothers Allan, Reggie, and Trueman and her sisters Irene Winchester (Albert) and Hazel.

Janice enjoyed knitting and her talent for creating beautifully patterned baby bonnets, booties, and sweater sets were loved by her family. As well, her baked goods were enjoyed over many cups of tea.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the excellent care and kindness shown to Janice by the entire staff of the Dalhousie Nursing Home and the Villa Renaissance over the years she has lived with them.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Bosco Church on Thursday, November 03, at 11:00 am.

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.

For those who wish, donations can be made to the Dalhousie Nursing Home Foundation in her memory.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted in the care of Maher’s Funeral Home, Dalhousie.
