René Joseph Fecteau

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on April 9th, 2016, at the age of 64, Mr. René Joseph Fecteau of Dalhousie, husband of Shirley (Russell) Fecteau. Born in Dalhousie on April 24th, 1951 he was the son of the late Benjamin Fecteau and the late Cecile Landry.

René worked as a high school teacher at École Aux quatre vents in Dalhousie for 32 years. He also coached several high school soccer and basketball teams. His devotion and passion influenced the life of many individuals, while working tirelessly to ensure equality for every student.

He is survived by his wife Shirley Russell; his daughters Krystyna and Kara; his stepson Ryan Guitard; his brother Fernand (Micheline); his sisters Georgette Letourneau (Ralph), and Ghislaine; three grandchildren, Kassidy, Dylan and Brea. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Laurier.

Funeral Service will be held at the St. John Bosco Church in Dalhousie, on Thursday April 14th at 11:00 am.

Visitation at Maher’s Funeral Home, 421 Victoria St., Dalhousie, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 and on Thursday from 9:30 am until time of funeral.

René insisted that if any donations were to be made, he would have appreciated them being made to the Aux quatre vents high school, Dalhousie, NB.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of Maher’s Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Décédé à l’Hôpital Régional de Campbellton, le 9 avril 2016 à l’âge de 64 ans, Monsieur René Joseph Fecteau de Dalhousie, époux de Shirley(Russell) Fecteau. Né à Dalhousie le 24 avril 1951, fils de feu Benjamin Fecteau et de feu Cecile Landry.

Il a été enseignant à l’École Aux quatre vents de Dalhousie pour une période de 32 ans. Il a également été entraineur de plusieurs équipes de soccer et de ballon panier durant toutes ces années. C’était un homme passionné par son travail et extrêmement dévoué à la jeunesse. Il a fait une différence dans la vie de plusieurs.

Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Shirley Russell; ses filles Krystyna et Kara; son beau-fils Ryan Guitard; son frère Fernand (Micheline); ses sœurs Georgette Letourneau (Ralph), et Ghislaine; trois petits enfants, Kassidy, Dylan et Brea. Outre ses parents il était prédécédé par un frère, Laurier.

Les funérailles auront lieu à l’Église St. Jean Bosco de Dalhousie, le jeudi 14 avril à 11h00. Visite au Salon Funéraire Maher, 421, rue Victoria, Dalhousie, mercredi de 14h00 à 16h00 et de 19h00 à 21h00, et Jeudi de 9h30 jusqu’à l’heure des funérailles.

Si vous désirez faire un don, René aurait préféré qu’il se fasse au nom de l’école Aux quatre vents de Dalhousie.
