Walter Eugene Lapointe

Born in Nash Creek on Jan 16, 1924, son of the (late) Martha Hickey and of the (late) Walter Stanley LaPointe.

He worked for The Town of Dalhousie for 30 years and until retirement. He was also a Veteran of the 2nd World War, RROC (Royal Rifles of Canada) "C Force" POW.

He is survived by his 4 Children Marsha McGraw, Linda LaPointe, Barry LaPointe and Donna LaPointe, his 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. His sisters Edna, Delia, as well as many nieces and nephew. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Betty) LaPointe, his son Clarence LaPointe, his Granddaughter Julie McGraw, His Parents Walter and Martha, his brothers Raymond and James.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint John Bosco Church in Dalhousie, on June 28 at 11:00 am.

There will be no Visitations.

The family would like to thank the Villa Renaissance Nursing Home and their staff for their wonderful care over the last 11 years. The staff became like a family to all of us.

For those who wish, donations can be made in his memory to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 17 for helping other veterans.
