

Bandy Elmore Cline, Jr. of Gastonia passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday May 2, 2017. Bandy loved his girls more than anything. Bandy was known as a big hearted man. He loved to give to others. Bandy enjoyed both the beach and the mountains. He loved to garden and plant flowers. He was an outdoorsman who loved to fish, hike and camp. He enjoyed “hunting waterfalls” with his granddaughter, Amber. Bandy loved to be busy. He enjoyed picking antiques and UNC Basketball. He proudly served in the 82nd airborne division of the US Army. Bandy will be dearly missed by many.
Bandy is the son of the late Dorothy Ann (Farrar) Cline and Bandy Elmore Cline Sr. Bandy was also preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca “Becky” Ann Cline.
Left to cherish the memory of Bandy are his daughter Brandy Cline and granddaughter Amber Bommarito. Bandy also leaves behind his significant other, Sharon Driscoll; sisters Deborah “Debbie” Weaver and husband Ricky and Sharon “Sherry” Smith and husband Rick; along with a special niece Crystal Cline and nieces and nephews: Elizabeth Weaver, Ryan Weaver, Rick Smith II, Jared Smith, Christopher Smith and Tyler Smith. Also missing Bandy are great niece Laila Acosta and great nephews Jordan Ford and Camden Smith.
A celebration of Bandy’s life will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the Dallas Funeral Home Chapel, 212 W. Trade Street, Dallas, North Carolina. The Gaston County Honor Guard and the US Army will accord full military honors to Bandy. Pastor Thomas Lineberger, Jr. will officiate.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
