

Clarence “C. D.” Dean Phillips, Jr., age 73, of Dallas, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. He was born in Lumberton, North Carolina and was the son of the late Clarence Dean and Lillian Lewis Phillips.
Mr. Phillips retired from Scott Mills, Gastonia and attended North Gaston Church of God, Dallas.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Lela Britt Phillips; two sons, Randy Dean Phillips of Gastonia, Robert Phillips and wife Rondi of Charlotte; one daughter, Brenda Phillips Ohmer and husband Daniel of Hickory; one step-son, Carroll Lewis and wife Shelli of Lumberton; one step-daughter, Doris Warwick of Lumberton; three brothers, Billy Phillips and wife Rhonda, Donald Phillips and wife Maria of Lumberton, Larry Phillips of Greenville, N. C.; three sisters, Ruth Horne of Drexel, N. C., Betty Ann Palmer and husband Melvin of Morganton, Barbara Phillips of Lumberton ; six grandchildren, Zachary Cannon, Joshua Ohmer, Christian Ohmer, Heather Phillips, Erika Phillips, Ashley Warwick; three great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Tom Stone and wife Bobbi of Lumberton.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P. M. Saturday at Dallas Funeral Home, 212 West Trade Street, Dallas.
Funeral services will be 4:00 P. M. Saturday at Dallas Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andy Nicholson officiating.
Interment will be private and at a later date.
Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Bonnie Lamb Phillips; son, Russell Phillips; one brother, Carl Phillips; one sister, Ava Glisson.
