

A beloved family man who was a true entrepreneur best describes Jack Everett Barker, 88 who passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Jack was a founding member of Northside Community Baptist Church. He and his wife, Carolyn loved to travel and they were blessed to see many parts of the world. Jack loved the Gaithers, the Carolina Panthers but most of all his family. All who knew and loved Jack will miss him dearly.
Those left behind to cherish his memories are his wife of 25 years, Carolyn Barker of Dallas, NC; three children, Marty Barker and wife Karen of Denver, NC, Paul Wallace Jr. of Gastonia, NC and Crystal Wallace Riley of Gastonia, NC; four grandchildren, Drew Green, Abby Green, Amanda Assell and Dan Barker; three great-grandchildren, Silas Assell, Naomi Assell and Elias Barker; brothers, Bob Barker and wife, Pat of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Bill Barker and wife, Margaret of Houston, TX and sister, Shelby Lowe of Fuquay-Varina, NC.
Preceding Jack in death is his great granddaughter Khaleda Assell.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Dallas Funeral Home (Carothers) in Dallas, NC. Pastors Tim Lee and John Johnson will preside. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Dallas Funeral Home.
