Martha Carpenter

A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late William Felix and Kate Bolin Wright.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Carpenter of Dallas; children, Rhonda Carpenter of Gastonia, Freida Marr and husband, Ricky of Kings Mountain, Mark Carpenter and wife, Dana of Bessemer City, Gary Carpenter and wife, Jennifer of Dallas; grandchildren, Dawn and David Wooten, Rick and Lisa Marr, Shannon and Michelle Marr, Christie Gragg and spouse, Josh Carpenter, Amy and Eric Blair, Jennifer and Ryan Greene, Brooke and Jessica Gibson, Matthew and Heather Carpenter, Brandon Crumpton; and 16 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Carpenter; and 3 brothers.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday at Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Hall officiating.

Burial will be at Westview Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Thursday, prior to the service at the church.
