Pauline Rebecca Rushton

Pauline Rebecca Vernon Rushton, 87, of Gastonia, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Cleveland County and was the daughter of the late Katherine Neal Vernon Edwards.

Mrs. Rushton was a member of Garver Memorial Baptist Church.

Mrs. Rushton is survived by three daughters, Wanda McKinney and husband Mark, Kathy Anders of Gastonia, Patricia Bethea and husband Paul of Charlotte; brother, Jim Vernon of Charlotte; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Thursday with a Celebration of Life service to be at 12:00 p.m. at Garver Memorial Baptist Church, 1920 Modena Street, Gastonia with Rev. David Stewart officiating.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

Mrs. Rushton was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Edwards; two sons, Olin Rushton, Donald Rushton; daughter, Janis Tapp; granddaughter, Debbie Lowery; three brothers, Ray Vernon, Billy Herman, Bob Vernon.
