Aaron James “AJ” Jones passed from this life on March 18, 2016. He was a son, father, brother, nephew, grandson, friend, cowboy, wielder, lover and fighter. Aaron was a man passionate about life. He lived life to the fullest, always searching for the next thrill. He worked hard and played even harder.
He was not one to hold a grudge and always had his family and friends back. He was passionate about his family. He honored his mother, and especially loved his son. He would work hard all day, and then run home to play with his little buddy. They would jump on the trampoline, playing baseball, (really Colton would hit the ball and Aaron would go chase after it just to set it up and do it again), and play with trucks in the dirt. Aaron love bowling and fishing and just being at the lake swimming. His mother called him a water baby. He loved the water from the start. He and his brothers love to cliff dive at Lake Whitney. There was something about the lake water of Texas that he just loved. He loved music. Country artists like George Strait, Brooks and Dunn, Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan were just as important as Eminem. He loved sitting by a campfire or kicking it up at the party barn.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Dana Files, his “Pops” Keith Phipps, his father Chad Jones, his other mother, Kelly Williamson, siblings Courtney Files, Joshua Rogers, Jakob Rogers and LeeLee Jones, Christian Jones, his grandparents Ronnie and Cathy Files. Also he is survived by Danielle Stroud and their son Colton James Files. He was preceded in death by his daughter Peyton Pope, and grandparents Mike and Jackie Jones.
He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
“It’s not what you take when you leave this world behind you. It’s what you leave behind you when you go,” by Randy Travis from the song ‘Three Wooden Crosses’.
