On December 15, 1995 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Adarryl Toriano Chaney, Sr. and Nathasa Renee Gaten were blessed to become the parents of a handsome baby boy, Adarryl Toriano Chaney, III. Darryl, as he was fondly called by family and friends, brought laughter and joy to the hearts of his loved ones. In the earlier years of his life, Darryl was baptized in the Lord’s house at Village de lest Baptist Church by Reverend Thomas Walters.
Adarryl began his educational journey at Little Woods Elementary School in New Orleans, Louisiana. He continued his education through the halls of Cedar Hill Independent School District in Cedar Hill, Texas, where he attended Permenter Middle School, and graduated from Cedar Hill High School in 2014. During those times, he enjoyed playing basketball and football with his childhood as well as neighborhood friends.
Upon graduating from high school, Adarryl was employed by 5-Star Auto Spa as a Detail Technician. He found great joy and pleasure in his job. However, nothing could compare to the love and happiness that he shared with his son, Ahmad D Leonard - Chaney.
Adarryl lived his life to the fullest until that unseen hour on June 16, 2020. It was during that time that the angel dispatched heavenly wings. The wings that granted him permission to soar to a life beyond anything that earth has to offer.
He leaves to cherish and honor his life: one son, Ahmad D. Leonard-Chaney; his parents, Adarryl & Julie Chaney (New Orleans, LA) and Demetrius & Nathasa Duncan (Cedar Hill, TX); grandparents, James and Margie Patterson (New Orleans, LA); Felix Marvin & Gail Winesberry (New Orleans, LA); and Nathaniel Gaten, Sr. (New Orleans, LA); five brothers, Dimitri Gaten-Chaney (New Orleans, LA), Adarryl Chaney, Jr. (California), Darius Duncan (Cedar Hill, TX), Demetrius Theophile Duncan (New Orleans, LA), De'Vonta Duncan(New Orleans, LA); two sisters, Me'lange S Chaney(New Orleans, LA), Rayion Williams(New Orleans, LA); one aunt, Lisa Wade (New Orleans, LA); four uncles, Felix Marvin Winesberry, Jr.Garland, TX), Nathaniel Gaten, Jr. (New Orleans, LA.), Reginald Gaten (New Orleans, LA), Jarmiah Gaten (New Orleans, LA); Godparents, Herman and Keisha Johnson; Godsisters, Jontelle Johnson (New Orleans, LA), Daisha Wade(New Orleans, LA), Cedrian Hawkins (New Orleans, LA), Da’Kyra Nealy (New Orleans, LA), and a host of cousins and friends.
