Addie Louise Ingram 92, passed away September 22, 2012 in Carrollton, Texas. Louise was born December 20, 1919 in Texarkana, Texas to Edward Roach and Margaret Elizabeth Hopkins Roach. In 1942, while working as a switchboard operator a handsome young man claimed that he stole a peek from a small opening when Louise "winked" at him. That's all it took for Buford James "Jim" Ingram, after only one month, he and Louise were married on Valentine's Day 1942. They settled in Dallas where Jim worked for Western Electric until he retired in 1967. Louise started working at the VA Hospital and later worked for over 30 years at the Federal Building in Downtown Dallas. After retirement they started a new career as donut makers, opening Ingram Donuts on E. Mockingbird Ln in 1967. Many a student started their school days with Ingram Donuts for breakfast. Ingram Donuts became the family business until it expanded. Louise was also a member of NARFE and FOE. She always loved to listen to music, loved animals including her dogs, Rambo and Holly and her favorite cat, Ethel. Louise found a special love with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family time together was always priceless. Louise will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, James Roach, Milton "Buck" Roach, Charlie Roach and Lorene Burns; and her dear husband Jim Ingram in 1991. She is survived by her sons, James Byron Ingram, his wife Pat and Steven Howard Ingram; daughter, Ronda Louise Ingram Olson and husband Thomas; grandchildren, Daniel Ingram, Shaun Christopher Self and Clinton Thomas Self; great grandchildren, Sierra Isabella Self, Ethan Thomas Self and Sloan Valentine Self; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 11:00 - 12:00 p.m. with Funeral Services to begin at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Calvary Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Robert C. Preece officiating. Interment to follow at Calvary Hill Cemtery in Dallas, Texas.
