Al’s talents and dedication brought him a long and successful career as an executive in the insurance industry, but what he had truly come to enjoy was spending his evenings and weekends with Emily, discovering the city’s newest and trendiest nightspots. He is survived by loving wife, Emily Todd, brother Dale, surrogate families in Bangkok, Thailand, and Santiago, Chile, and a legion of friends and colleagues.
Al frequently spoke lovingly and fiercely admiringly about his Thailand boys: Den, Dong, Dej, Wat, Supan and the rest of his Thai family of choice. Their successes were a source of great pride for Al. Similarly, his close relationship with the Jiminez Larrain family of Santiago, Chile ,was very important to Al and a long time source of joy and warmth.
Highly educated, he amassed multiple prestigious degrees and certificates. From large insurance companies to start-ups and from New York to Chicago to Dallas, Al was a dynamic and effective business leader. Later in life he enjoyed spending time with Emily and friends at his beach home in Equador.
Friends who want to remember Al are invited to raise a glass filled with an Old Fashioned (no cheap bourbon, please).
