Alan was born on July 9, 1929, in Libertyville, Illinois, to Albert and Julia Rosing. He attended Loyola University Chicago and proudly served in the United States Air Force for 21 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Belia Perales Rosing.
He is survived by his sons, Stephen (Susan) Rosing, David (Patricia Walton) Rosing, Keven (Beverly) Rosing; his daughter Ina Rosing; his brother, William Rosing (Marlene); his sister, Janet Ellington; two grandchildren, Conner and Shannon Rosing; brother-in-law Enrique Perales and sister-in-law Guillermina Perales and many nieces and nephews.
Alan had a brilliant mind with a passion for numbers, statistics, and overall knowledge. He was a walking encyclopedia. In his retirement, he enjoyed a daily crossword puzzle and playing cribbage. He had a sweet spirit and a caring heart who accepted every stray pet his children brought home over the years (there were quite a few). Nonetheless, each one found a forever home at the Rosing residence.
Alan, our father, will be missed beyond measure and he leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. Thank you, dad, for sharing your life with us. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
