

Aleyne Kahn Marks passed away Friday morning, March 12, 2010, at the age of 91. She was born March 9, 1919, in Tulsa OK to Julius and Pauline Kahn. She left Tulsa after her high school years to complete her college education and then moved to Chicago to pursue an acting career. She later met Ronald Marks, a native Dallas resident, and they were married in 1940. Aleyne moved to Dallas at that time to start a family and continued to be involved with the arts throughout her life which included the Dallas Summer Musicals, Dallas Opera and several other Dallas cultural organizations. She was an American Red Cross volunteer and was involved with the family business which was founded in 1905. There was nothing more important to her than being a great wife, grandmother, and great grandmother and she was the best. We will miss you Maw Maw. Aleyne was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; son, Ronnie; granddaughter Natalie Lynn; and sister, Marguerite Moise and her husband Joe. Aleyne is survived by her son, Paul; grandchildren, Alicia Marks Thompson and her husband Captain Matt Thompson, Daniel Marks, Jake Marks and his wife Beth, and Jenni Marks Scoggins; great grandchildren, Jackson and Johnson Scoggins, and Ella and Collison Marks; nephew Steve Moise and his wife Beth; and their children Grant Moise and his wife Katie, and Adam Moise and his wife Alyson. A special thanks to the staff at Monticello West and her Mayfair caregivers Sheree “Nell” Robertson, Karmaria Taylor, and Carolyn Donahue for their love, kindness and support. A private prayer service and memorial was held for Aleyne.
