

Mr. Alfred Lloyd Tennison, Sr. was born on October 6, 1922 in Lindale, Texas to the parentage of the later Mr. Richard & Luella Tennison. Alfred attended public school in Lindale, Texas. Later in life Alfred enlisted in the United States Army and was deployed to serve his county in World War II. In August 1964, he met and married the love of his life, the late Mrs. Gladys Ruth Gardner Tennison, they were married for 47 years until her passing in December 2011. Along with his wife, Alfred made a home and raised their family and taught them to love each other and to love thy neighbor. Alfred was known in the community for his timeless efforts he spent in keeping his lawn manicured, even so he even started his own lawn service. Alfred passed away peacefully on Monday August 8, 2016 at the Royce City Health & Rehabilitation in Royce City, Texas. Alfred can will now join the ranks of those that have preceded him in death: his parents, Richard & Luella Tennison; his beloved wife: Gladys Ruth Tennison; his children: LaRoy Williams and James Hickmon, Anne Laura Scott, Clara Willis, Estell Davis, Lennie B. Hickmon, and Wilson Hickmon; his grandson: Duntay Echols and other relatives. He leaves to cherish his memories and legacy: his son: Alfred Lloyd Tennison, Jr. (Juliet) of Dallas, Texas; his daughters: Linda Martin (Danny) of Lancaster, Texas, Annie Lois Daniels (Corey Sr.) of Rockwall, Texas, Shirlene Manning of Mexico, and Earlie Mae Young of Mesquite, Texas; a daughter in law: Annie Hickmon of Rockwall, Texas; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will greatly miss Alfred Lloyd Tennison, Sr.
