Born on February 16, 1947, in Dallas, Texas to William and Beanna Jackson, Missionary Davis dedicated her life to serving the Lord, her family, and her community. A loyal member of Haynes Chapel COGIC in Dallas and the Saintsville Institutional Church of God in Christ, she served faithfully in the Saintsville Sanctuary Choir as Vice President. She also supported the Saintsville Vacation Bible School, Children’s Church, and various community outreach efforts to help others in their time of need.
Missionary Davis attended N. W. Harlee Elementary School, James Madison, and Roosevelt High School in Dallas, Texas. After her high school graduation, she attended the University of North Texas where she majored in Speech Therapy. Her work experience includes Southern Methodist University, CitiGroup, and Xerox Corporation where she retired after serving the company 25 years.
Missionary Alice Davis was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering faith. She believed deeply in the power of prayer and was a source of encouragement to all who knew her. She was an outstanding pianist and singer who often played gospel music to lift those who were in a place of despair. Alice loved to cook and often baked home-made goods for family and friends. She was known for her signature recipes for sweet potato pies and her delicious Tea Cakes. We could find her desserts featured at special events and on family tables during the holidays.
She leaves to cherish her memory of one son, Alvin Davis, III (Lynne), Alvin Davis, Jr., one granddaughter, (Danielle), four great grandchildren (Janel, Josslynne, Julien and Jaxon), three brothers (Richard, Garry, Larry), two sisters (Barbara, Cynthia) and a host of other relatives, her church family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents (William and Beanna Jackson) and one brother (Billy Charles) who now rejoice with her in glory.
We proudly celebrate the life of Alice Jackson Davis, and we rejoice in knowing that she is resting safely in the arms of Jesus, where there is no more pain, sorrow, or suffering—only everlasting peace and joy. To God be the Glory!
