Anderson "A.C." Columbus Williams Sr. never met a stranger. If you had the pleasure of crossing paths with him, you were likely met with a warm smile, and a story or joke that made you laugh or think a little deeper about life. A.C., as he was affectionately known, passed away on January 26, 2025 in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 79, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, service to others, and unwavering dedication to family and friends.
Born on January 3, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Julius Edward Williams and Lela Mae Johnson, A.C. grew up with a strong sense of duty and resilience. He carried those values throughout his life—first as a proud Army veteran and later as a dedicated postal worker and as an esteemed member of the Masonic fraternity. No matter what uniform he wore, A.C. always put his heart into his work to serve others, while forming lifelong friendships along the way. He was a committed theology scholar and lived his life filled with the sharing of the Word of God.
But above all, A.C.’s greatest pride was in his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend—roles he cherished more than anything. He found pure joy in the presence of his loved ones, sharing laughter, wisdom, and stories. His kindness, sense of humor, and ability to make everyone feel at home will be deeply missed.
A.C. is survived by his daughters, Dr. Stephanie Toi Edwards, Dr. Felicia Cole, and Shawn Payne; son, Anderson Columbus Williams Jr.; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Julie Murphy (Ron) as well as nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts. In honor of A.C.’s generous spirit, the family encourages you to share a story, a smile, or an act of kindness in his memory.
