Ann Louise Hill (Bates) was born on September 29, 1955, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the late Leola Hardy Bates and Willie Payton Bates Sr. She peacefully transitioned from this life on January 18, 2026. Ann received her formal education at Mansfield High School in Mansfield, Louisiana. She later continued her education at MTA Truck Driving School in Dallas, Texas, where she earned her Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Ann dedicated over 20 years of faithful service in the Home Health Care field, where she touched many lives with her compassion and care. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her daughters, Latonya V. Bates and Letesha R. Bates; her son, Sylvester Hill, Jr.; her grandchildren, Za’Quiria Bates, Ja’Mia Harris, Jerome Harris, Jr., Legend Hill, Landon Hill, and Lamair Hill; her sister, Roise Lane; her brothers, Charlie Bates and Dr. Paul D. Bates; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Payton Bates Sr. and Leola Hardy Bates; siblings; Viola Edwards, Mattie Wallace, Bessie Rivers, Hellen Williams, Margaret Harris, Willie P. Bates Jr., Brad Bates, Burford Bates, and Emily Hardy.
