Arretta “Retta” Hestand Cargile of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025 in Richardson, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, friend, and colleagues all who knew and loved her.
Retta was born on November 29, 1923 in Tioga, Texas. She excelled in everything she worked at: school, business career, homemaking, and her religious life.
She is survived by her daughter Suzanne McCroskey, of New York City; sister-in-law Sue Hestand, of San Marcus; nephew Kenneth Gray, of Mineral Wells; and nieces Donna Hestand of Bowie and Melinda Livingston of San Marcos. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Cargile, in 1994 and her husband, J.G. Cargile, in 2000.
A funeral service and burial will be held Monday, September 8th, at 10 a.m. at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas.
