

ARTHUR FERRIS JUBER ROBERTS Sr. was the 7th child of 9 children: Theodore, Ola, J.D., Roscoe, Angie, Lottie, ARTHUR, Wordie and Elnora. He was born in Dallas, Texas on October 10, 1931. He was preceded in death by both parents and children Marilyn Roberts, Malvin Roberts and Arthur Roberts Jr.

ARTHUR received his early education from the Dallas Independent School District. He was a 1953 graduate of Lincoln High School, Dallas, Texas.

At an early age ARTHUR accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas Texas under the leadership of Pastor Howard Gill. Arthur went on to faithfully worship at St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church where he was ordained a deacon by the late Pastor C.J.R. Phillips Sr.. He then joined Great St James Missionary Baptist Church before returning to St. Phillips MBC later in life.

ARTHUR united in marriage with Laverne Davis on November 26, 1955. Married for 62 years, they were the longest married couple in the Roberts Family.

ARTHUR worked as a porter for E.M. Kahn until 1979 when he founded Roberts Trucking. Roberts Trucking has since grown to be the largest African-American family owned trucking company in the City of Dallas.

ARTHUR, although gone from our sight, will remain in the hearts of his wife, Laverne (Davis) Roberts; daughters Patricia (Dwight) Roach and Audry Peterson; sister Wordie Harrell; Grandchildren Deidra Redic, Quincy(Yeny) Roberts, Alicia Duncan, Bree Maddox, Arthur Roberts, Jason Roberts, David Fullenwider, Ashley Peterson; 7 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
