

Barbara T. Weiss, a pioneering businesswoman and beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, died peacefully at home while surrounded by family on May 9, 2015, her 82nd birthday. Born in 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio, to Bernard and Ann (Kaplan) Tarletz, she married Charles M. Grodin in 1952 and moved to Dallas in 1954. After relocating to Tyler and Fort Worth, where she made lifelong friends, she returned to Dallas in 1971 and founded Table Togs Inc., a table linen manufacturing and importing company, at a time when women rarely conceived and operated their own businesses. A lover of adventure, she traveled worldwide and lived life to the fullest. Brilliant and beautiful inside and out, she was warm, hilarious, fun, caring, generous, brave and thoughtful. Barbara
opened her heart and home to everyone and was a true friend who was always there when needed. She is survived by brother Larry Tarletz; daughters Diane Blake and husband Douglas and Nancy Partridge and partner Rick Linton; and son Michael Jay Grodin and partner Julie Hefner. She is also survived by grandchildren Breana Grodin, Monika and Noah Partridge and Matthew (Courtney), Justin(Jentri) and Thomas Andrew Blake; and great-grandchildren Arin and Kael Yosenick and Payton, Lyla, Rex, Elizabeth and Charles Blake. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Martin Benjamin Grodin (1960-1995)and grandson Michael Martin Grodin (1996-2013). A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Temple Emanu-EI Cemetery, 3430 Howell St Dallas, with Rabbi Asher Knight officiating
