

Barry Brodnax Barnes, age 79, passed away on the morning of Monday, March 21, 2016. He was born in Dallas, TX on November 2, 1936 to Claude Clayton Barnes and Lewla Mae Barnes. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1954 and attended Baylor University.
In 1958, he began working for Texas Instruments, retiring in 2002 after 44 years. He was a member of the Texas Instruments Retirees Association and the Woodrow Wilson High School Alumni Association. He loved shooting pool with friends and watching movies, old and new.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Judy Mae Barnes, his son, Steven Gregory Barnes, his daughter, Lesley Diane Woods, and three grandchildren, Steven Brett Woods, Erin Nicole Woods, and Samuel Baruch Barnes. In addition, he leaves behind the widow and family of his closest friend, Don Powell, who died recently: Patricia Powell, Cynthia Pierce, Jana Kapp, and Karen Powell.
Barry’s family wishes to express their deep gratitude for the hospitality and friendship they showed him over the final years of his life. He also leaves behind many friends from T.I, and his neighbors on the street where he spent a great deal of his life.
A graveside service to share memories will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 4118 Sammuell Blvd, Dallas, TX. The family requests that no flowers be given, but that a contribution to the charity or organization of your choosing be made in his memory.
