Basilio Garcia (B.G.) Renaud, 83, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 in Dallas, TX. He was born in Harlingen, TX October 24, 1932 the third of five children. He is survived by Elvira, Estrella, Frank and Conchita. He is preceded in death by his parents Basilio Garcia Sr. and Consuelo Cisneros Renaud. He met his wife Dora Avila at Pan Am University in 1952. The two became pioneers in bilingual education in Dallas ISD. He played a tremendous part in the expansion of the program throughout the district for nearly four decades. He is greatly admired, and will be especially missed by his six children Gerry, Annette, Bettina, Dora, Robert and Marisa as well as by his eight grandchildren. A rosary and funeral mass will be held at 12 noon March 21, 2016 at Calvary Hill Cemetery in the North Chapel, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX 75220.
