Ben Earl Muir Jr.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Ben Earl Muir, Jr. Ben passed away on December 27, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ben was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on October 11, 1945, to Benjamin Muir and Frances Normaleene Mills. He graduated from Irving High School in 1963 and later earned a bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance from North Texas State University in 1971. While attending North Texas, he met June, the love of his life, and they married on September 30, 1967.

Throughout his career, Ben worked in banking, software and IT, and later in transportation for Forney ISD, where he ultimately retired. His work ethic, kindness, and humor left a lasting impact on colleagues, friends, and family alike.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Norma Muir. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, June, his children Christopher Muir and Kerri Muir-Hussey, grandchildren Reid Muir, Langlee Hussey, and Treat Hussey, great-grandson Kayden Muir, as well as cousins and many dear friends who loved him.

A memorial service will be held on February 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church Forney (1003 College Street), with a reception to follow.
