

Bernardita loved to travel, enjoyed her hobby of collecting old coins, and collected essential oils; frankincense and myrrh were her favorites. She was introduced to her husband of 40 years, Ricardo Cuartelon, by a college classmate, and they were married in 1976. At one time she had a dream of opening her own pharmacy, but that was set aside when the family decided to come to the United States, where she worked as a mail handler for 17 years.
Bernardita is survived by her husband, Ricardo Cuartelon; sons, Bernard Cuartelon of Denver, CO, and Oliver Cuartelon of Dallas, TX; sister, Aurelia Avinante of Mesquite, TX; brother, Gregorio Lucero of Pasig, Philippines; best friend, Nena Sarampote of Dallas, TX; niece, Florence Avinante; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M., with the Rosary Service at 7:00 P.M. at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 6306 Kenwood Ave, Dallas, TX 75214.
The Committal Service and Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 1500 S. Westmoreland Rd, DeSoto, TX 75115.
